MY JUL-AUG’12 BEAUTY BUYS

My July/August Beauty Stash that includes stuff from Maybelline, Urban Decay, Laura Mercier, The Face Shop, Clio & Illamasqua ☆

How did I end up with so much stuff? Hmm, let me see… the story goes like this:

The Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette was a birthday gift I had desired & chose. So was the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer, which I had used Sephora vouchers (a thoughtful birthday gift from 2 of my gfs) to purchase.

There was a sale at The Face Shop, & a girlfriend who was a member wanted to check it out. In the end, I was the one who walked out with 2 purchases :(   And one fine day, I ended up at Sasa and as there was a promotion going on for Maybelline, I decided to purchase their new BB stick (which, unfortunately, sucks for me) & then along with a cute face mask in a “bag” packaging, a box of eye masks & a bottle of my favorite Evian spray.

My makeup artist angels highly recommended this professional brand Illamasqua & I decided to buy 2 of their products which were on sale online. And I continue to be besotted with Clio eyeliners & went to purchase the nude colored one, making it the 5th Clio eyeliner I own so far.

No, I don’t think I can stop buying more makeup because it’s just impossible & I get depressed even thinking about it. At least I do wear & use makeup, so there are essential stuff that gets cleaned out most of the time, like face powder, concealers & eyebrow pencils. And because I like to try new makeup, I do end up with different brands all the time.

The only thing I am loyal to is the brands of the cotton wool I use for my face. One’s from Sasa and the other’s from Daiso – which I will touch upon in a later post ;)

Wild & Chic Eye Shadow Palette by Make Up For Ever

Lovin the shades of the limited edition Make Up For Ever eyeshadow palette and I have to blog about it.

Last week, I went to get makeup for my church evangelistic drama and I was introduced to this palette. With 6 intense shades of eyeshadow and a mini Aqua Eyes eyeliner in black (0L), indeed it lives up to its name.

Here presenting the look I have done with the Wild & Chic Eye Shadow Palette by Make Up For Ever.

Guess what?? The packaging is super nice! Rugged rock chic look. A very nice palette to bring around.

Best Eyeliner of 2012: CLIO

First spotted the CLIO eyeliners at Junction 10 Watsons, & was raving to my boyfriend how waterproof they were after I tried a few colors on my hand & couldn’t rub them off. I couldn’t stop thinking about them & was so tempted to buy 1 – but after looking everywhere at all the convenient Watsons I passed by, it was either they didn’t carry the brand or there weren’t any stocks left :(

So it was after 3 months that I finally returned to the same Watsons at Junction 10 where I first saw the products… & swiftly bought 4 shades :D I had wanted the blue because it was a different blue from the other blue liners I had, then I was attracted by how shiny the silver was, & then I saw the black… & then the purple! I could only stop myself from buying the brown :(

I have to say these are my current favourite brand of eyeliners – not only do each liner come with a sharpener (at the bottom of the liner) for easy access, the colours are rich & they are super waterproof – which means they didn’t smudge at all. But because I have oily eyelids, the bottom lines started to smudge after half a day. Still, they have the best staying power of all the liners I own :P

Love the look I did based on the packaging look :D I’m SO SOLD!

STILA ONE STEP PRIMER

I was out “window-shopping” with my girlfriends when we spotted this new STILA Primer at Sephora:

It promises to “swirl your way to perfect skin in one step”! A sucker in trying makeup & skincare, I was instantly attracted to the colourful swirls I saw :D Yes, I bought it & this is how one pump of the primer looks like when I first tried it:

Some people may find this a little gross, but it reminds me of the Paddle Pop ice-cream I used to love when I was a child ;) I also like the idea of combining the different colour primers because we all have colour imperfections on our face & sometimes, you wonder HOW? I want to correct this, I want to correct that… so in the end, I always end up getting a neutral or anti-matifying primer. So what the 3 colours do is that green minimizes redness, lavender counteract sallow undertones, and the peach brighten, illuminates and helps diminish the appearance of sun spots!

Do try it if you find it as fascinating as me, but do let your expectations at a minimal because you can’t expect your face to look flawless with just a primer :P They are just the 1st step to achieving a flawless look ~
