CHEAP ‘N’ GOOD WITH DAISO

I dropped by a newly-opened DAISO at a neighbourhood mall & saw that they are going to open at ION soon :P Funnily, I always never seem to buy anything when I shop at ION – maybe it’s the crowd or the fact that the shops are merchandised in a messier way – and I always end up with a headache when I leave.

Anyway, I browsed through the cosmetic section to see if I could spot any fantastic buys. Just so everyone one knows, not everything at DAISO is worth $2.00… Some are worth MORE, some are worth LESS. Don’t get so excited that you end up buying a cosmetic sharpener or a ear cleaner for $2.00~!

My personal rule is never to spend more than $10.00 when you are inside DAISO, because that means you will only shop for 5 items, and so…even if you end up buying something that you ain’t going to use or is cheaper outside, at least you won’t regret too much :P

So after half an hour, I walked out with

  1. 2 boxes of cotton wool
  2. 1 pair of No.10 lashes (which I’ve bought before & used)
  3. 1 pair of No.16 lashes (new!)
  4. Blotter paper in pink packaging
  5. Makeup Corrector (something unique I’ve not tried before)

STRAWBERRY CRUSH

A gift from Georgiana, who just returned from a trip to London & Paris (not too sure where she bought this from!)… Love the sweet-smelling scent & the non-sticky texture! :D

Did I mention I enjoy being lavished with makeup gifts?

*muacks!

MY FAVORITE TWILIGHT CHARACTER

Both SAB and I are great fans of Twilight :D For me, the vampire I like best would be Jane. The ice cold look is so captivating! Maybe it’s also because Dakota Fanning is so pretty that she is able to pull off any image given to her. In the movie, she plays the youngest vampire of the Volturi Coven and possess the ability to debilitate pain using her thoughts. In addition, she has super speed and extraordinary strength abilities too!

Well, I hope that I will get to see all of these in Eclipse which is already showing in the cinema! *Excited*

Do you know that Twilight has its own makeup range? The creator actually categorized the makeup into 2 collections; Luna for the lighter collection (for humans) and Volturi for the  darker collection (for the vampires). Bad news it that you can only purchase the makeup from TwilightBeauty.com :(

And yes, I’m going to be doing a Twilight look – can you guess who I’m going to do? ;)

Girls Generation Inspired Look

Look inspired by Tiffany from Girls Generation

And here is my interpretation :)

As you can tell, Korean celebrities focus a lot on eyeliners; bright eyeshadow seem to be not their cup of tea!

This look is really simple!

  1. Using a black eyeliner, outline the upper lash line & extend the line slightly outwards.
  2. On the bottom lash line, start drawing the line roughly from the 2/3 of the eye till it meets the line drawn earlier on the upper lash line. For a more intense effect, you can outline the whole bottom lash line.
  3. Shimmer pigments are applied on the inner corners of the eyes for a brightened-up effect. Great for tired eyes ;)
  4. Instead of wearing full lashes, try wearing 3/4 of the lashes for a subtle effect.

I’M A BARBIE GIRL

My personal interpretation of the Barbie Doll Look:

Okay, I have to admit that this is just a heavier version of my pink & purple look, with the fake lashes & more of the pink eyeshadow… but at least I tried! I have to admit that because I was heading out with this look, I opted to go lighter on the blushers & lips :P Think JERA will do a better job with the inspired looks & I will just stick to dolling myself as pretty as possible :D

If you were wondering, for eye makeup, I used a combination of Tony & Tina eyeshadows with Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Eyeliners. Eye makeup base was from Too Faced and highlighting powders around the eyes were from Biotherm and Majolica. As for face makeup, it was a combination of liquid foundation from L’Oreal + loose powder from Make Up For Ever + shine powder from Maybelline.

Not too complicated for you, I hope! :D
